“The trouble with the rat race is even if you win, you’re still a rat.” Instead, the race we are to run is to fulfill the call God has on our lives.

Further, the rhythm of the week allows a day to rest. Scripture calls it sabbath. Six days you work, labor, and care for tasks. On the seventh day, you rest. In a world that screams, “go, go, go,” sabbath rest invites you to run toward renewing your heart, soul, mind, and strength for the week ahead. Sabbath rest is fuel for you to fulfill the call and claim God has on your life.

What would happen if you set aside one day this week for worship, recreation, leisure, and time with the people you love? What day will you commit to sabbath rest?

Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.  Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. Exodus 20:8-10
