(All) O God, we thank you for your love that will never let us go, but we confess that we have trouble loving others as you have loved us.  We give you thanks for your amazing grace that accepts us as we are, but we confess that we have trouble being grace-filled with those who disagree with us.

We are grateful that we find our worth in you, but we confess that we have trouble finding worth in those whose values differ from ours.  We know our hope lies in the promise of your blessings of love and reconciliation.  So, we confess our desire to be reconciled to you. Forgive us for thinking and acting as if we can do this work on our own power and influence. Fill us with your grace so we can and will become the people you have created us to be.  Amen.

(One) In and through Jesus Christ God has acted on our behalf.  While we were yet sinners, separated from God and one another, Christ died for us.  In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.

(All) In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven!  Thanks be to God!
