O God, I come to you holding The United Methodist Church and the Council of Bishops before you. You know more of what we need than any one of us, yet you have given us the privilege to love and care not only for one another, for all people with whom we agree or disagree, and for all your creation. Hold us close, as individuals and as your church…so close that everyone working on proposals and resolutions receive and share your deep and abiding peace. Give us open hearts and minds in our decision making. Guide the skills of our leaders. Love them through all who gather tomorrow in your name, so that when proposals are shared, they have brought you glory as you have worked for our good. Surround your United Methodist family with such peace that we can trust you without hesitation. I offer our church and our bishops to you in Jesus’ name. Amen
