Prayer for Cross-bearing

Holy God, you lead the way in cross-bearing.  You understood, accepted, and moved with resolution toward calvary.  In the grand sweep of salvation, you catch me looking back to see who is following. Then, I look ahead, seeing your steps guiding the way, offering peace, seeking hope.  And there you are, confronting me with the power of the cross that calls me to follow you.  I’m walking with you, God, along your path, journeying as one of your disciples.  Equip me, empower me, guide me. Work in me as you work in through your church to bring the world to respond, “glory!”  Amen.
