Galatians 5, Day 1
Read
Faith energized by love, and not religious law keeping, is the essence of the Christian life. Observance of the law cannot be added to faith in Christ as an extra religious accomplishment.
Reflect
Salvation cannot be both by grace and, even partially, by our religious achievement. For Paul, to submit to the law is to reject the way of God’s grace. The hope of righteousness assures us of God’s forgiveness. It is the hope in what Christ has begun within us will be completed.
Respond
Follow Jesus
Brainstorm 10 ways faith can be expressed in love. Make it a list of things you actually WANT to do and WILL do. This isn’t about earning God’s love. It’s about responding to God’s love.
