31 Days of Prayer

Day 21

February 16, 2019

Read Hebrews 11:38-40, 12:1-2

Let us place the needs, assets, and the future of the United Methodist Church into God’s hands.  Let us trust that God has something better in store for us and that those who have gone before us, as well as those who come after us, are depending upon our faithfulness.

Prayer for Today:

O God, thank you for providing what we need to face today and to step into the future unafraid.  Give us eyes to see the new thing you are doing in the midst of the United Methodist Church.  Knowing how you have worked in our past and the history of our church, we trust you for today and for tomorrow.  Thank you for all who have gone before us to help make us who we are.  Thank you for all who come behind us.  By your grace to make us faithful so we can be the connection of your love for the past, today, and tomorrow.  We offer ourselves to you in the name of Jesus.  Amen

Today we’re looking back to look ahead. We’re holding on and stepping into a new day. We’re living in the tension of both/and as we celebrate our heritage and pray for the church of today. #prayers #faith #jesus #umc #transformingmission

A Few Reminders

Thank you for participating in this 31-day prayer journey.  Our journey will include opportunities to read and reflect on the scriptures as we pray specifically for the special General Conference, for the leaders of our denomination, and for the delegates who have represented us.  As we pray together, we will become more who God has created us to be.

You can find the delegates from the West Ohio Conference here.  Let us pray for each of them every day. It will be through our prayers that they become more who God created them to be.

Thank you for taking this journey with us.
