31 Days of Prayer

Day 14

February 9, 2019

Read Psalm 46:1, 10

Over the next few minutes, free your mind of any thoughts of what you have to do today.  Become as conscious of God as possible.  Believe that God is as near as the air you breathe.  Maybe some images of God might help you focus. God is:

  • light, and in God there is no darkness at all
  • love and God so loved the world that God gave his Son
  • not far from me or from anyone, because of God we live and move and have our being

When you have become as conscious of God as you possibly can, name before God the delegates representing us at the General Conference. (The delegates are listed below). Make these persons your focus of prayer today.  Over the next few minutes, bring each of them into your consciousness of God.

Prayer for Today:

O God, today we hold Amy, Chris, Roger, Mike, Karen, Dee, Curnell, Doug, Wade, Greg, Caleb, George, Phil, Kathy, Joy, Bill, Chris, Harris, Lyndsey, and Marilyn before you.  Fill each of them with your grace, peace, and trust so that they have clear discernment of your presence.  Use them to make a difference in the life of the United Methodist Church during the special General Conference.  We place them into your hands in the name of Jesus.  Amen

As we offer our prayers for grace, peace, and trust in the midst of discernment, we seek to encounter God. May the light and love of God be present with you today and always. #prayers #jesus #church #faith #transformingmission Transforming Mission

A Few Reminders

Thank you for participating in this 31-day prayer journey.  Our journey will include opportunities to read and reflect on the scriptures as we pray specifically for the special General Conference, for the leaders of our denomination, and for the delegates who have represented us.  As we pray together, we will become more who God has created us to be.

Below are the delegates from the West Ohio Conference.  Let us pray for each of them every day. It will be through our prayers that they become more who God created them to be.
